Conveners: Jens Hornung and Matthias Hinderer
Session language: English
Topic:
Sedimentological features are still regarded as one of the key controls for reservoir management purposes. Asset teams in all kinds of disciplines like CO2 sequestration, hydrocarbon exploitation, aquifer characterisation or environmental issues are challenged to quantify and predict these controls from microscopic to regional scales. Outcrop analogue studies, ground penetrating radar, seismics, drilling, logging, 3-D modelling (dynamic and static), sequence stratigraphy and hydraulic testing (in lab and in field) are tools to predict such subsurface properties. This session refers to various disciplines and all kinds of state-of-the-art methods seeking a better understanding of sedimentological reservoir characterisation and prediction.
