Aerosols, with their fascinating variance of chemical and physical characteristics, steadily emerge as a trigger material not only for atmospheric science and current climate change issues, but also for agriculture and ecology, technological applications and human health. This session invites contributions that represent important aspects of this wide range of topics and add to our growing understanding of aerosols and their role in the environment at large. Papers are particularly welcome that challenge current paradigms and/or present new approaches to aerosol research. The session chairs believe that this interdisciplinary approach may be particularly useful for all participants.
